Now that I have the looks of my 33 almost complete I really hate to put the FFR bike fenders on it. No matter how much I would cut off.
I now want to build new fenders myself which are as close to the tires as possible (may be 10mm or so). Kind of similar to what they did on this brazilian hot rod here. I would, however, not cut them the way they did it.
I need to dig out my SEMA photos from last year. They had a blue one on display with more complete fenders.
Did anyone do this to his FFR 33 ? Anyone any idea how to do it ? Metal or fiberglass ?
Any other suggestions ?
Thanx!

Guess I should have said that I mean all four corners and not just the front. Certainly only the front ones are called bike fenders. I am looking for a solution to have all four close to the tires.

I have two sets of rear fenders. One that works for 295's and the others I widened for 15" wide tires. Could a set of these be modified for the look you want ? I looked for a 2011 SEMA picture so I could see what you're after but couldn't find one.
I was looking at using widened front fenders on the rear, mounted to the axle. I am using the FFR wheels and I had to add 1" spacers to get enough clearance between the tires and body using the standard fenders. I do not have enough space between the body and tire to mount the rear fenders to the axle. If you figure out how to do it, please let us know.

Just so I'm clear, you want to mount the front style fenders to the rear axle so they move up and down with the axle ? Interesting ..... I'll look at it when I get home and see what I can come up with if you'd like. Sounds like it probably couldn't be done with the current back spacing you have on your wheels though. You could always buy new rear wheels and make it work though.
Tim,
yes, that is what I was looking at and assumed that is what Kai is talking about. I am still thinking about it in the future, definitely with different wheels. It would be an interesting look for those of us who have to have fenders. For now I need to concentrate on getting the car on the road.

You can absolutely do it! In fact it looks sweet and works pretty well. I was planning on doing the same that the brazilian guy had done. I love the fact that it makes the fenders almost invisible which is so trick. Here's a video showing the fenders attached to the rear axle. You'd just want to make sure you have bump stops in there to prevent a bottom out against the body.
Yes, this is also what I would like to do. I just don't like how the Sigma guys cut the fenders. I want mine to cover the tires as much as needed so that they won't throw that much gravel and water. I cannot use FFR front fenders as they won't clear the diameter of my 10x20s with 295/30-20s. I also want the fenders to as close as possible follow the contour of the tires.

I wonder if this would be easier with an 8.8 from the 2000 mustang
That axle is a few inches wider and has oem brackets that are just inside the FF bodies inner fender.
