california sb100

I was wondering if everyone can chime in that is a California build. I took my car to chp, they assigned my vin, next step bar and I don't think it was done correctly. I went there filled out a estimate paper of $0. I watched him put info into the computer he prints out a sticker and slaps it on the car and hands me paperwork and says you are smog exempt. I read through the paperwork and its registered as a 2012 spncs? It does say sb100, and the yr of the engine is a 1960? I told him I would like to reg it under the yr and make it represents and he said he can't do that. He said don't worry because in 1960 there was no smog requirments so its not a big deal.

Am I in for a long battle trying to get this corrected?

I did mine 3 months ago (sb100) 2012 spncs smog exempt.
I have built 4 hotrods from scratch in the last 7 years, all of them under sb100. All spncs (year of construction)

33custom,

California does not register replica/kit cars by the year make and model it represents. That's why they came out with SPCN.

When you go for your SB100 you can have it tested under the make and model it most resembles or by what the engine most resembles.

And If the Referee cannot determine a model year, the model year 1960 will be used for the SB100. But not for registering the vehicle.

CHP Inspection

I am about to have my car inspected by the CHP. Did you trailer or drive your car to the inspection? The nearest CHP office is about 30 miles away from me.

Thanks.
