Turbo 350 pics???

Hey guys. I'm moving along here on my build but I just ran into an issue. I think I might be missing a mount or something from the turbo 350 trans mounting hardware. I do have the x-member ya know the bracket with the arch shape. I think there's something that goes between that bracket and the trans mount. Whatever it is I don't have it and it's driving me crazy. For some reason I didn't get the small block Chevy instruction booklet with my kit but ffr was happy to email me a copy although it shows nothing about mounting a turo350. Does anyone have some pics hat could help me figure out what I'm missing or show me how I might be able to fabricate something myself. Thanks G

Trans Mount

What mount came with your kit. Is it the 4-1104 Energy Suppression mount? That is the Ford mount and should bolt to the rear mount plate but it has the wrong hole spacing for the GM trans. Is that your problem? If so I have a solution.

Not really my problem but I'm all ears anyway. I did purchase a trans mount. But it's about three inches away from the xmember bracket.

3" to high? I can't picture it being off that much. Can you post a picture?

Not three inches to high. Three inches forward of the xmember in it most forward position. The trans mount hangs three inches in front of the xmember when the xmember is in its most forward extended position. If the mount and xmember lined Lined up there would be a two and a half inch space between the bottom of the mount and the top surface of the xmember also. I'll try to post some pics.

Tail housing

If the front motor mounts are correct then the only thing I can think of is that I think that there are different length tail housings for the TH350. You might check into that.

Thanks. there is a long and short tail shaft On the turbo 350. Mine is the short. The manual to my knowledge says nothing about short or long or what works best. Anyway I broke down and welded up a mount this evening. Basically I just welded a piece of square tube to the xmember. The tube cantilevers forward and the trans mount bolts to that. It was a quicker fix then I thought it was going to be. Thanks for the help.

Rear mount

Glad you found an easy fix. You have got me thinking about my build. I had to make a plate to attach the Ford mount to the GM 4L60E trans but I have not tried to fit the motor/trans into the chassis yet. I have the FF5 mounts for my LS1 so I know that will fit but I have no idea where the rear mount will end up.
Will see in a week or so when I start the motor/trans mock up.

Your 4l60E is quite a bit longer then my turbo 350. If I remember correctly from my big block Malibu swap a 700r4 is the same length as a 4l60E. A 700r4 is way longer then a turbo 350. There's a whole lot of adjustment in the xmember so I don't think you'll have any problems.
