what is everyone doing to solve the trunk issue?

Brought my car to paint and the trunk is a weak point the painter said the left and right side will vibrate... Thought about using a handeled latch but the whole back of the car is still really flexible... Any one fix this?

If you are referencing the rear part below the trunk lid, I have a bar that is curved to that shape and bonded to the body. Makes it very stiff and the trunk will latch consistently.

I already built the lower part I just ran a metal strap from the fiber glass to the upper part of the trunk, I am talking about the deck lid itself. Very weak on the hinges feems flimsy..

I do what street beast did only put it between the inner and outer skin and attach a gas lift strut to it.

I also bond the inner and outer skin together in a few places with some fiberglass plugs. Between those two things and the liner, it's pretty solid.

I did what Tim did using his parts and it goes a long way to making the pos trunk lid stable. If you want to add more stability you need to connect the inner and the outer skins of the trunk lid. They are only bonded on the edges.
