What are some actual weights of finished '33's?

First -- I searched for an answer before posting this question!

I know FF says the finished weight for a '33 HR should be around 2200 to 2400 lbs. However, they do not say with iron block 302 and automatic or "Coyote" with 5/6 speed manual. I also assume they mean a roadster (not a coupe with PW and AC).

I feel sure that many (most) builders have weighed their finished '33's. I would appreciate knowing what your finished weight was. Kindly indicate whether coupe or roadster, fendered/fenderless and what drivetrain is installed. That is, iron block with automatic or all aluminum w 5-speed, etc.

Thanks in advance!
Jon

I've checked mine without paint and body work and it was less than 2100. I weighed it with all the window parts and carpet. I made sure MORE stuff was included than will be left on the car to account for heat/sound materials. My engine is all aluminum with a TR3650 and full exhaust out the back. I have some added roll bars but no sound system, AC, or heat. My weight does include a single wiper and the electric windows which will probably not be used. I have also removed a few pounds off the body in places and won't be using the hood, side panels, or nose piece.

I think it's possible to stay below 2100, if I make that a priority. My engine will easily put 350 to the rear wheels so my 1/4 mile times will get me booted off most race tracks for lack of safety equipment.

I have the same goal, get booted for going too fast.

Hi Ben,

Here's the weights for 007 after we'd roughed in the corner weights and ride height this spring after we switched to the QA1 shocks. It's now + or - 10# on the cross weights after a bit of tweaking on the coil-overs.

W/O Driver..............

With Driver..............

Both of these diagrams were the weights with the hardtop on the car and the hardtop is stuffed with foam insulation.

Best regards, Tom

Hi Terry, I think I found why my 33 weighs more toward the back:

Thats awesome Tom! Great cross balance numbers too - real surprised its more to the back. maybe its cause you dont have power steering or AC? although i expect that iron 5.0 weighs more than most people's engines, even with the aluminum heads.

regardless good news cause all the little custom ideas i have has would be adding weight to the front!

thanks again for the info, as always
