Hi guys
I'm siting in the airport on the way home from Howell Mich.
I just completed a three day build with the instructors from Mott community. College.
The build is for Snapon tools and will be given away at their big show in Vegas in Aug.
The car still has to be painted, and have the interior finished, but from nothing to burnouts in 3 very long days.
The team was
Jim
Todd
Charlie
Scott
All instructors for the school.
Scott
Jake
Tyler
From Snapon
And myself
Aka The traveling builder.
The build went great and not a bad word anywhere from anyone. The instructors really know their stuff. If you are even remotely thinking about taking the school don't hesitate.
It is as good as you could imagine.
Well that's all for now. Pics to follow.
later

Great time building the car with you. Maybe we can do another build sometime. I think I'm finally coming down from sniffing paint fumes for over half of the first day of the build.
JJ, I think it was a combination of us showing Mark some stuff, and him showing us some stuff. Every time you do another build it's a new learning experience.

The new frames are a good idea however, Da Bat and I struggled with them when prepping the bodies for the CW show. Having them adjustable was a great idea however it seemed to make it hard to get the door latch inboard far enough to engage the striker properly. The bracket is offset a bit because of the overlap joint where the two come together so I think this causes this other problem. I must have put three hours into the first car just trying to get the doors closed. The older frame was much easier in my opinion however you had to drill out the square holes in those rear brackets as most of you remember. That was a huge pain. So, in our situation, where we didn't have access to a drill press, the new system worked for us. It just caused a bit of another issue.
Well I don't have the greatest pics but here are a couple including one of the "Traveling Builder" himself.

I know what you are going to ask.
And no, we do not build the cars of students and
we do not sell our cars from the class either.
There is just too much liability all around.
Sorry
