not exactly sure how to start this post i see a lot of people have set one of these up so i figures I am kinda at a stand still so I should make one and let you guys see my progress...
Make sure you have [ img] ...[ \img] (with out the spaces) around the URL:
Actually make sure it's a backslash / to end the tag. Photobucket gives you the line to copy and paste directly into your post, too. On the right side, just copy the "IMG code" they give you and past it into the text.
What do you guys think about this alt. bracket, jim if you see this post now you will know what i was talking about on the phone... I think it looks funny sticking that far out but i don't have many other options...
Ben, I see you're working on the tank and did the gravity feed. Very cool. IF you're still going to run the stock breather you'll want to to take the breather fitting and get a drill bit that fits into the male opening and drill out the internal hole. This will help with filling the tank as the stock one is tiny. The alternator bracket looks great! Don't even sweat it!
I used a March pulley system for LS usage and the Alternator and the air conditioner pump tucks in quite nicely. They have a standard width for drive by wire throttle bodies and a narrow kit for mechanical throttle body.
The panssenger side exhaust pipe fits out of the box but the drivers side needs the bend increased to fit up properly. I had one of the first sets and had let them know about it and thought it would be corrected by now.
As you probably noticed by now, you can change the thermostat housing to the straight unit to get clearance for the rad hose.
As you have used a std trans. you won't have to fab a custom trans mount.
I think the alt bracket looks great but you might have to put a bubble in the side panel if you run them. Another option for the thermostat inlet that I did, was to make a spacer with a grove cut in to the back of it for the stat to set into and counter sink the bolts to attach it to the water pump and then you can clock the stat hose inlet in a rotation that works for the hose orientation and drill and tap for attaching it to the new spacer. The next question that I think you will have to deal with is one that people seem to have different solutions for, is to plug the 2 hose connections just to the left of the stat inlet or loop them together. This was never clear to me and what I did seems to work but does not seem quite right. I welded a bung area on the inlet neck and drilled and taped a 1/2" npt hole and connected it to forward or the 2 hose fittings after removing the factory nipple and also tapping it to 1/2" npt. You also need to connect the steam ports from the front of the cylinder heads either into the upper radiator tank or into the hose going to the radiator tank. This connection from the cylinder heads is quite critical to prevent an air or steam entrapment area in the cylinder heads.
Thanks for the info everyone!!!! i am in the process of getting the body mounted so i can line up the seats... I am putting in adjustable seats so i have to weld some stuff in....
well i took my time in mounting the body and i think it came out ok... I made sure the car was level then took measurements from the ground up and all 8 points i measured from were the same left to right... what the hell are the little black rubber things used for in the body mounting kit? and where did everyone mount the body to the frame? I used the two holes in the beck by the shocks, then along the door sill i just used the 2 that came from the factory {temp} then in the front where the bottom part comes out on the little triangles.. There has to be more to holding that body on the car?
I am also pretty close to getting the driver seat in will finish the welds up tomorrow.. then start the passenger side.

The rubber bumpers are for where the hood and side panels mount. I've seen people use them for door and trunk lid also, but you don't need them there if you use the weatherstrip.
The firewall is the major mounting point. I'm assuming you installed that and at least temporarily clamped the body to itl. Since the body is so flexable, you have to have the firewall attatched before you do any panel fitting, otherwise your panels will all fit wrong. Those mounting poiint your using are ok, but some people have added some structure to the upper deck where the trunk lid meets as it 's pretty flexable there.
It's coming along great! Like the wheels too, what are they?
so now i am thinking I messed up, I mounted the firewall to the chassis. I did not know that the fiberglass gets mounted to that area. where exactly are we supposed to mount the fiberglass to the chassis? oh boy hope i did not mess something up but it can be fixed if i did... thanks for all your help guys.
Here is what was accomplished yesterday, minus mounting the body to the firewall area I went out there and don't see any place that i can actually mount the body to the frame near the firewall...

Good question, I was reading over the manual looking for the same information. Its kind of lacking in detail for mounting the body to the chassis.
I guess I wasn't clear, but it sounds like your ok. As long and you mount the fire wall to the chassis and used that as a mount point for the body, you're fine. I don't have the manual in front of me, but I thought it was pretty clear about mounting the foot boxes and fire wall and then clamping the body to the fire wall to locate the rest of the body.
well i could be wrong but looking further in detail on "dangerous curves ahead it seems like the body gets mounted directly to the alum firewall?? is that correct?

yes, that's what I was trying to explain, didn't have a picture handy, sounds like your on the right track.
