I hate hearing that! It's hard to find people you can trust these days.

i guess the exhaust ( shorty block hugger headers and 2 1/4 inch exhaust are plugging that engine up.

I read in a recent Hot Rod mag that not all dynos work the same way.

Chassis Dyno Testing - Hot Rod Magazine
They had the same car tested on 5 different dynos on the same day, with results from 577Hp to 662Hp

Did you allow for 15% driveline losses?

BTW , have also experienced apalling service and attitude with some suppliers while buying parts for my car.

525 crank hp on a dyno, with no accessories and long tube headers could easily be 380 at the wheels with block huggers/shorties and 2.25" full-length exhaust.

That's still gonna be enuff to scare the bejeebuz out of you.

well took the car out and it is fast def. not the fastest thing i have been in but it is ok. one of my friends in SD owns a 2011 z06 with mild mods done to it and i am willint to say his car will blow the doors off the 33 i built.

Dont get me wrong still a very fun car, but i see a supercharger being placed on the car soon.

I've played that game a few times. My last 3 cars have been Mustangs. The best one is a nearly stock 03 Mach1, next was a modified but NA 04 Mach1, the car between those two was a full forged 5.3L SOHC twin turbo 02 GT. It was light, sported Brooks stage 3.5 suspension, and put down 620/680 RWHP/TQ. There were three times I loved the TT'd Mustang:

1. When I absolutely killed a C6 Z06 on my way to work because he kept messing with me.

2. When I could run through the gears in peace on some of our back roads.

3. When I sold it and nearly broke even!!! That was a good day.

I would recommend driving it more. You might find it has a better balance of power vs reliability as is. 380 at the wheels is pretty respectable for a light hot rod.

I can agree that 380 at the rear wheels is respectable... a part of me wants to leave it the way it is and a part of me wants the car to scare the living shit out of me...

Allowing for a 15% loss to the drive train, 380HP at the rear wheels makes for about 500HP at the flywheel. Throw in losses for the exhaust, water pump and alternator etc. it would seem that the claimed 525HP is about right.

Based on my short go-kart experience with a 425FHP 347, you will have a hell of time getting that much power to the ground anyway. It looks to me like it will take a set of drag radials or slicks to even begin to hook it up, but if you do, you will be in the 10's with no sweat.

That's fast enough for me.

Your car looks great. I'm starting bodywork now with the help of a friend who knows what he's doing. VERY messy! Very tedious.

ahh the body work!!!!! i am glad those days are over. make sure your long runs are not wavy! my hood isnt bad because i spent 2 days trying to get it to come out but i have seen some long runs on fiberglass that look scary! also the trunk make sure you do something about the lack of ridgity( i dont even know if thats a word) just make it stable I thought mine was ok and the paint is starting to rub off because the trunk moves a little in the recess... let me know how it comes out..
