Grilling again

I must be crazy, photo is the grille shell off Quicksilver. Notice the lack of holes for grille bars at the top of grille shell? Will I soon own the only mffr grille shell with straightened bars? Stay tuned and see!

Based on your craftsmanship so far, straightening those bars will be any easy fix for you. Can't wait to see it.

Taa Daa!!

The one, the only straight ffr grille. Tough little project to complete. Center bar is in the center of the grille shell top and bottom. I built good jigs so more straight grilles are now possible. Some slight differences in the grille shell casting that can't be fixed short of a new shell, but much better now. PM if interested.

Looks fantasitc! As you've noticed, the shell it's self is'nt symetrical. I digitized it in cad a while ago and could see it's not the same side to side.

Hi Terry,

Some of us are a bit 'crooked' anyway, so the grille works just fine for us!!!

I first posted on the asymetric grille back in 2009 and thought it was just that my car was a very early "beta" being #007, but apparently nobody took note in QC until much later.

Post:
Grille, not quite "square" and symetrical

That's some very nice work - you should have been an orthodontist!!!

The race is on!

Hey Tom, the race is on. Hope you are racking up the miles. Oregon weather has been very wet and Quicksilver is twitching to get back in the race and on the road again. Hope you are well... Terrible Terry

Awesome work Terry. I'm gonna leave mine natural and as delivered. That will make it easy to determine that it's an early FF car. Kinda like the tail in the air common to the early Mark roadsters.
