Looks great Don. Enjoy the ride and anticipation of getting it back at summer's end. Fall will be a great time in which to break it in.

So, DonMc, what did you do about the hood clearance problem? I want to use the same mill on #333. Did you try a drop center air cleaner base?

Jimmy,
Looks like I will be going with the FFR offered hood with the raised section to be able to have the clearance needed for this setup. I will have the hood drop shipped to the body shop and will let you know how it goes, the guy at the body shop has installed this hood on another FFR 33 and believes it will provide plenty of clearance.

I just dropped the car off at Hackshack Friday, those guys went to work as soon as it went into Gary's shop!

Don

Thanks, buena suerte. I finally have decided to drop back and punt; I wanted a sleeper with original hood lines so I started to think about the Z347 But then, low and behold, Ford discontinued the Z347 crate (it had only been catalogued for about 2 months) and replaced it with a Z363 which puts out 500 h.p. and (I hope) doesn't present the fitment issues. Since it's built on a Boss 302 with 8.2 deck height and is 3" shorter oil pan-to-carb-pad, I think that fixes the problem with only a 35 h.p. sacrifice and I can live with that. Time to get down to work.

Thanks for tolerating my persistant questioning but it looks like I fell into warm ____. I'm pricing it all out now. Thanks again.

Jimmy

Don,
I have the same motor and the same symptoms.
Doing some diagnostic testing now to see if it's the same problem or something different.
Thanks for posting your problem. It helps others with similar issues.
