January 2002 - Picture of the Month

The "Potato Motor" has a 331 Eagle Stroker crank, with Eagle H-beam rods and 8.5 Venolia flycut pistons The roller rockers, pushrods and lifters are Comp as is the cam with a .54 lift and 253 duration. The block was studded to accept the Trick Flow heads have been rework to flow a little more. The intake is an aluminum Edlebrock Performer manifold with an ATI Holley 650 reworked for the supercharger. The supercharger is a polished billet ATI Procharger currently running 9# boost. The fuel is fed through 5/8" lines by a 1000HP Airmotive pump and regulated by a Mallory fuel regulator triggered by boost pressure. The electronics are MSD 6AL Master Blaster coil and MSD Distributor.

We dyno'd the motor with only 6# boost and we got and easy 450 HP at the rear wheels with 450 lb ft of torque. With that we know we're well in the excess if 550HP at the flywheel. We have not dyno'd the motor with the 9# boost yet ..but we really, really want to get to 500RWHP. Hopefully with a little more tweaking we'll make it.

Thanks,
"Mr. Potato Head"
